This combination of cumin, coriander, black pepper, garam masala, turmeric and other aromatic spices gives the dish a rich, spicy and enveloping flavour , which enhances the flavour of the mixed vegetables and butter that characterise this traditional dish.
Pav Bhaji is made from a mix of stewed and mashed vegetables and served with buttered and toasted pav (soft rolls).
